How one little word can be such a problem for so many people
November 21, 2007 | 1:06 amFacebook… I can’t believe this is the first time i post about it, since i’ve been an active member for about 6 months now. Anyway, it seems at least 1/2 the planet knows about it, so i won’t even introduce it. But if we want to measure the importance facebook has taken in our lives, we just need to see how worked up over 160 thousand people got over one little word, the word “is” in facebook’s status updates. As Mashable explains in their news announcement, until now, if you wanted to tell your friends that you want ice-cream, when you went to type your status update, the sentence was already started for you “CosmoChick is” and you had to complete the sentence. So you had no choice but to write “CosmoChick is wanting ice-cream”… But now the “is” is coming down!! Now, you can finally be grammatically correct and say “CosmoChick wants ice-cream”!! Whoo-hoo for facebook and proper grammar!
Well, we were told that as soon as it turned November 21st, the change would take effect. Well, it’s midnight and 1 minute, and still, no change. Maybe i have to wait for Pacific time? I guess facebookers must dance to California time… well, i’m afraid i won’t hold my breath, it’s off to bed I go, off to go dream about this whole new realm of status update possibilities that is now available to me!!

I IS am happy that they IS finally decided to IS do so…oppps…sorry I am used to having those “IS” in my conversations now…Facebook addiction…
UPDATE: finally, today, December 13th, 5pm Eastern, it seems IS is gone!! whoo-hoo, bring out the champagne!
…actually, i don’t know what to do with myself now *sigh*
