However, the quality that Obama has is not just to restore our standing and regard in the world, but also to lift us out of the expectation that government is all about 'doing for'. There is no finer example of that than his campaign. He has mobilized hundreds of thousands, millions, even to give when it hurt, to call, to walk, to represent at rallies, you name it, he's asked it. He <i>asks</i>. And that brings a response, because he's proven himself effective in what he's done thus far. The real change that I see is a shift from the expectation of "I" to a paradigm of "we". Mobilized by a lot of people committed to seeing change happen. Nice post, and I do agree with you to some extent.
